How To Tie on with Figure of Eight

1. Make a loop in the rope.
    (Place Mouse over image)
Make a Loop in the rope
2. Take the end (a) behind and down through the loop. Tie the Eight Knot
3. Adjust the tail of rope:- Knot on heart, end at fingertip, is approximately the required amount. Although this will depend on the length of your arm and the thickness of the rope. Measure the tail
4. Thread the tail end through the harness, then follow the rope back through the eight.
Tie the figure of eight knot around the climbing harness
5. Tie a stopper knot in the remaining tail so the figure of eight doesn't work loose( See How to tie a bowline for details). Make sure this sits right next to the eight knot.
